Studio and Graph › The Viewport
Camera and Display
Every camera and display value the viewport panel exposes, with its default, its range and whether it applies to one pane or both.
The Camera Speed: N pill opens a panel of spin-box rows rather than a drop-down list. Every row has its own reset arrow that only appears once the value differs from its default - its tooltip is "Restore this value to its default" - and every edit saves to disk as soon as you commit it.
Most rows here are shared: changing them affects the Source and Target panes together. A few are kept per pane instead, so the Source and Target panes can each hold a different value. Each table below says which.
Camera group
Every row in this group is shared between both panes, except Field of View, which is per pane.
| Setting | What it does | Default | Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Camera Speed | WASDQE fly speed, LMB drag-walk and wheel-dolly distance, in world units per second | 600 | 1 - 100000 (drag: 50 - 5000) |
| Orbit Sensitivity | Degrees of yaw/pitch per pixel of Alt+LMB orbit | 0.4 | 0.001 - 100 (drag: 0.05 - 2) |
| Look Sensitivity | Degrees per pixel of RMB free-look | 0.25 | 0.001 - 100 (drag: 0.05 - 2) |
| Pan Multiplier | Multiplier on the distance-scaled pan speed | 1.0 | 0.001 - 100 (drag: 0.1 - 4) |
| Invert Pan | Checkbox. Off: the camera follows the mouse while panning. On: dragging grabs the canvas - content follows the mouse instead. Applies to both perspective and ortho. | off | - |
| Field of View | Camera vertical field of view, in degrees (perspective only) - per pane | 70 | 1 - 170 (drag: 5 - 170) |
| Min Camera Distance | Floor on camera-to-pivot distance, so dolly cannot collapse into the mesh | 100 | 1 - 100000 (drag: 10 - 1000) |
| Ortho Zoom Sensitivity | Ortho wheel-zoom exponent per wheel notch | 0.0004166667 (= 1/2400) | 0.00001 - 0.01 (drag: 0.0001 - 0.002) |
| Drag-Walk Speed | Plain-LMB drag-walk forward speed, world units per pixel of vertical drag | 8.0 | 0.1 - 100 (drag: 1 - 30) |
| Drag-Walk Yaw | Plain-LMB drag-walk yaw, degrees per pixel of horizontal drag | 0.5 | 0.01 - 10 (drag: 0.1 - 2) |
| Focus Padding (Persp) | Framing padding Focus (F) uses in perspective - higher frames looser | 1.2 | 1 - 5 (drag: 1 - 3) |
| Focus Width (Ortho) | Ortho frame-width multiplier (x mesh radius) Focus (F) uses | 2.4 | 1 - 10 (drag: 1.5 - 5) |
The "drag" figure in the Range column is only how far the on-screen slider travels; typing a value still reaches the full range to its left.
See Navigating for what these drive in practice, and Focus (F) for how the two Focus settings are used.
Viewport group
Exposure, Render Scale, Near Clip and Far Clip are kept per pane. Background Color and Wireframe Color are shared.
| Setting | What it does | Default | Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exposure (Brightness) | Manual auto-exposure bias; 11 is the mid-grey baseline - per pane | 11.0 | 0 - 20 (drag: 5 - 15) |
| Render Scale (Supersample) | Render-resolution multiplier; 1.0 is native - per pane | 1.5 | 0.5 - 2 (drag: 0.75 - 2) |
| Near Clip | Near clip plane, world units - per pane | 1.0 | 0.01 - 1000 (drag: 0.1 - 10) |
| Far Clip | Far clip plane, world units - per pane | 1000000 | 1000 - 1000000000 (drag: 100000 - 10000000) |
| Background Color | Colour swatch; opens the colour picker (no alpha) | #21242A | - |
| Wireframe Color | Colour swatch; opens the colour picker (no alpha). Colours the mesh's wireframe overlay | #4FA3FF | - |
Reset Defaults
A button at the bottom-right of the panel puts every value above back to its shipped default in one click, plus two values that have no row anywhere in the app:
- Camera Speed 600, Orbit Sensitivity 0.4, Look Sensitivity 0.25, Pan Multiplier 1.0, Min Camera Distance 100, Ortho Zoom Sensitivity 1/2400, Drag-Walk Speed 8.0, Drag-Walk Yaw 0.5, Focus Padding (Persp) 1.2, Focus Width (Ortho) 2.4.
- This pane's Field of View 70, Exposure 11, Render Scale 1.5, Near Clip 1, Far Clip 1000000.
- Background Color returns to the current theme's panel colour - not necessarily the hex value shown above. If you have changed Panel background on the Theme page, Reset Defaults here follows that colour instead of the shipped one.
Two of the values this button restores have no spin box anywhere in the app: the plain mouse-wheel's dolly distance (a fixed fraction of Camera Speed) and the plain-LMB drag-dolly distance. Reset Defaults is the only way to put either one back deliberately.
Reset Defaults also resets Sky Light Intensity back to 1.0, even though that setting has no slider on this panel.
